How to translate a Teams meeting

Download the macOS or Windows build. Nothing is added to Teams and your IT admin has nothing to approve.

Choose what is spoken and what you want to read. Both can change in the middle of a call.

Join from the app or the browser. Captions appear as people speak, original above translation.

Teams live captions vanish when the call ends. Your transcript, summary and action items stay.

Teams has translated live captions. The catch is licensing: it depends on Teams Premium or a Microsoft 365 Copilot licence, and on who in the call holds it.

- If only you hold the licence, the translation is limited to you

- Live captions are not kept as a transcript afterwards
