Question 1

Which version should I download?

Accepted Answer

On a Mac from 2020 onwards, choose Apple Silicon; on an older Mac, choose Intel. On Windows, the Microsoft Store version is the easier one — it updates itself and shows no security warning. The standalone installer is there if your machine cannot use the Store.

Question 2

Do I have to install anything in Zoom or Teams?

Accepted Answer

No. Sigmise listens to the sound your computer plays, so there is no plugin, no meeting bot and no invite link to share.

Question 3

What does Sigmise need on macOS?

Accepted Answer

macOS 12 or later to run, and macOS 14.2 or later to record system audio. The first recording asks for audio permission; recording through the microphone alone works without it.

Question 4

Is it free?

Accepted Answer

Yes — the free plan includes 100 minutes of transcription every month, with translation, summaries and Ask AI included. No credit card to start.
